At Inner Mind, counselling sessions provide a safe and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Sessions are supportive and non-judgemental, allowing you to speak openly about what’s important to you.
Your counsellor will begin by getting to know you, understanding what has brought you to counselling, and working with you to identify your goals. Sessions are guided by your needs, and the approach may evolve over time as your understanding and priorities develop.
A range of therapeutic techniques may be used, tailored to your individual circumstances. Whether you are navigating anxiety, low mood, relationship concerns, life transitions, or personal growth, Inner Mind focuses on supporting insight, resilience, and meaningful change in a way that feels respectful and collaborative.
No, you do not need to be in crisis to seek counselling at Inner Mind. While counselling can be helpful during difficult or overwhelming times, many people also attend counselling to support personal growth, emotional wellbeing, and self-understanding.

Inner Mind follows professional ethical standards and legal requirements to protect your information. In rare situations, confidentiality may need to be limited. If this were ever to arise, it would be discussed with you.
Your trust is important, and Inner Mind is committed to maintaining confidentiality and transparency throughout the counselling process.
The frequency and number of counselling sessions at Inner Mind can vary depending on your individual needs, preferences, and goals. Many clients find it helpful to begin with weekly sessions to build a therapeutic relationship and gain momentum. Over time, sessions may be spaced out to fortnightly or monthly, depending on what feels most supportive for you.

Telehealth appointments at Inner Mind offer flexibility and convenience, allowing you to access counselling from the comfort of your own space or another private location that feels suitable for you. This can be particularly helpful for people with busy schedules, limited mobility, or those living in regional or remote areas.
Telehealth sessions maintain the same professional and confidentiality standards as in-person counselling, supporting your privacy and comfort. Many clients also find that telehealth reduces the time and stress associated with travel, helping them feel more settled and focused during sessions.
By offering telehealth, Inner Mind aims to make counselling more accessible and supportive while maintaining a calm, professional, and client-centred approach.
Inner Mind offers appointments Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
If you require appointments outside these hours, please contact Inner Mind directly to discuss availability. Where possible, alternative times may be arranged.
After booking your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email with the date and time of your session. This email will also include a link to an intake form, which we ask you to complete before your first session.
The intake form helps your counsellor understand your background, needs, and goals, allowing sessions to be guided in a way that feels relevant and supportive for you.
Your first session will focus on getting to know you, discussing what has brought you to counselling, and beginning to identify approaches that may support you moving forward.
Counselling sessions are not currently covered by Medicare. Private health rebates may be available, depending on your individual policy and level of cover.
We recommend contacting your private health provider directly to confirm whether any rebates apply.
